Hi Card, loving your contributions around the place, thanks so much for getting your hands dirty so quickly!

YEG

Hi everyone! My name's Holly, I'm totally new to poetry within the last month or so. Been writing quite a lot but thinking some feedback from people that don't know me would be really nice, so here I am. Looking forward to looking around the site more!
Hi,Card and Yeg
Hey Yeg! I'm looking forward to reading poetry written by people I don't know!

Veki

Hi everyone, all the best from Croatia. Finally ready to share some of my stuff and get some feedback since I'm a newb and looking toward reading contributions from the community as well.
Hi! I'm Katherine, owner of blogs and sass. I used to be a published poet but left a lot of writing behind for a decade or so; I started a food blog at the request of friends, then I started one to write about my MS; now they are kind of linked. I wrote the first poem I have in so many years, and I am a little surprised that it turned out to such a good reception. I forgot how much I loved playing with words this way! Thanks for providing a great place for me to restart this heartbeat.
Pleased to meet you Katherine, I'm sure you'll enjoy the site Smile

hi kathrine, welcome to the pen, if you're interested, we allow members to link to their website in their signatures.
Yeah, the more poetry that's open, the more poetry we can read. And reading is half the battle!

Seriously though, this forum is built around enjoying poetry, and a big part of enjoyment is reading!
I'm Sarah!

Leanne was kind enough to change my screen name so I could give shout out to the Smiths.

I'm a recent college graduate who made the mistake of studying politics instead of the fine arts. I've been teaching English at a school in southern India for the last five months. I live in quite a rural area and wanted to connected with other human beings; as at times I feel quite isolated. Though I'm learning Tamil (the language here), I don't think I'd be able to write poetry in it for a very long time, so joining this board seemed appropriate.

I'd really like to learn how to edit my poetry and, in general, how to write poetry. Basically, anything about poetry.
You're in the right place... watch out though, Srijantje is in India as well... you're lucky it's a big country and there's a bit of space between you Smile
hi sarah

be thankful that sj isn't near you, or he'd be showing you his collection of yaks Big Grin
you're bound to make a few connections here Wink
Big GrinTongueBig Grin hi Sarah
Haha, I see you're in the Himalayas. I, too, am in the mountains--though of Tamil Nadu. Smile Far, far away.
Hi Ha,
I love the title but (although I get the gist) your translation into English looks machine-like to me.
Hello! Thought I ought to introduce myself, given the opportunity's here. I'm 23, just graduated with a Fine Art degree (I wrote, mostly, at uni), and looking for a bit of help with my work - finishing my course and starting 'real life' has given me lots of free time and a distinct lack of motivation, and I know I work best when I've got someone looking over my shoulder. Your eyes seemed good ones to go for. Hope I'll get to know some of you! Smile
Hi hamartia, love your username Big Grin

"Distinct lack of motivation" is the writer's curse -- that's why most of us are here, I think, to make sure that we're given a good kick up the bum when we need to get on and do something properly.
Haha, thank you! It's never taken when I need a username for something, and I think it rather sums up my need for a site like this Wink A kick up the bum sounds... well, lovely's the wrong word, but you know what I mean!
hi hamartia, well to the bum kicking forum Hysterical
Hi Sqai, welcome to the site!
