Hi Smile This is a new one for me. We've had a member or two that were about 9/10 dead, but usually it's the living working with the living. I guess if you have enough interest in poetry to read a bunch of poems and offer some thoughtful comments in the workshops you could become a member. If you do I guess you could post one of your dad's in Poetry Discussion and see if people were interested in responding, the workshops are for people interested in editing their work, and I guess your father is pretty well done with that. Smile

I'm curious as to what you hope to gain from this. Do you enjoy reading them yourself? I found what I think is the only sonnet my dad attempted right around the time I was learning to write them myself, it made me smile. just knowing he had an interest in trying it.

Oh, and hi, Jonsy, welcome to the pen.
hi john; the point of the site is workshopping, will they be workshopped
Hi John,
I know what you are asking and do have a suggestion. My grandmother was an author and though her books were published her poetry was not. After she died, my uncles made a Facebook page to showcase her paintings and poetry. You could do something like that, or make a website. My uncles also printed a small "booklet" of her poetry to give to close family members. If your quest is more about trying to assess the quality of his work and whether or not you could have it published to honor him, then perhaps choose the two you feel are the best example and post them as Ella said in Poetry Discusion and you'll get some opinions that way. Smile Personally I wouldn't recommend workshopping someone else's work unless it's at the specific request of a publisher or something minor like a typo. Good luck on your quest, I think it's lovely that you are trying to honor his memory this way. Smile

Hi everyone my name's David. I thought I might try and post some little poems here.

I play guitar mostly, when I'm not busy avoiding life.

Hi everyone (: My name's Kate, and I'm trying to rekindle my passion for poetry after a couple-year hiatus. Hopefully using this forum will help me with that goal!
Hi, David and Kate, welcome to the Pen. Smile

And, David, thanks for the critiques you've already offered others. Jump on in, Kate. Smile
Hell, first time posting, was hoping to get some feedback to learn and grow as a writer.

Welcome to the site, Andrias and mit, glad to have you here. It's a pain that apostrophes are not on the main keyboard but they're pretty necessary, along with all those other squiggles. Hysterical

Don't worry you can critique a poem that's already been critiqued.

When working on a poem and trying to identify weak and strong points, every critique is valuable. If multiple posts point to the same weak or strong points it can be a great indicator of what to keep and what to work on.

Just read the poem and post your experience with it. Smile

albinododobird

Hi, everyone. I like writing poetry, and I want to get feedback, but I'm afraid of sharing my poems with people who actually know me. So figured I'd come to the internet.
Hi albinododobird,
