Congratulations everyone for having found this pen of pigs.
Coincidence?
I think not.
Remember that bright light?
The one you have dreams about.

It's here.
It's here somewhere and all you have to do is find it.

We'll help.

I've been writing poetry/spoken word/lyrics for 16 years now Smile ... That makes me feel old saying that lol... I haven't written in a year and am happy to have found an active poetry forum to help me get out of my writers block.

So, hey! Hi! Hello! This is my "newbie" introduction post...

Welcome! We always love it when someone describes us as "active".
Most of us haven't left our internet umbilical for years, our piss and other bodily
excretions have caked around us; but our collective delusion of activity, of having
a warm, hugging body that actually moves... this requires enforcement. Do you
have a red leather belt (preferably with sharp sequins) ? Use it on us, use it on us
and we will express our desires similarly. Pull down our pants. Smile

Welcome, newbies.
Good morning Kidlets! I'm Tim, I've been writing on an off for a while now, but have not known any other poets so nearly all my workshop based skills will be lacking. So bear with me while I get into the swing of things (and luckily there's a lot of helpful advice on how to do that!)

Looking forward to foruming real good with you soon!
Welcome, Tim, hope you enjoy the site.
Greetings Tim! As long as it's clear from your comments that you've read the poem and responded thoughtfully, then we're pretty easy. We'll be gentle with you Smile

Hey all.

Been scratching away intuitively on and off for a few years but this is my first foray into the grown up world of poetry.
I had browsed a few poetry forums before settling on this one as I like the attitude professed here.

Thanks for being.

See you on the inside.
Moose
Hey, Moose, welcome. Just read some workshop poems, leave some thoughtful and specific critiques and you're on your way.

Glad to have you. Smile

Anyone that uses "foray" (bespeaks a love of words) and "See you on the inside"
(acquainted with the concept of literary frame) is not just welcome here, is needed.

But "grown-up world" ?
The PinPeg is about the only place ever and always on the web that has succeeded in combining
honest criticism and comradery. Mistaking us for the real world is like confusing Peter Pan
with Boris Yeltsin. Hmm, well, ok, Boris isn't the real world either. Lets go with "like confusing
Peter Pan with a paper cut".  Yes.

See you inside wonderland. Smile

("Peter!", shouted Alice, "Keep the crocodile away from the cat, there's no telling what that fucking cat will do.")
Well, maybe grown-up when it comes to poetry in that temper tantrums are out of place and hard work is considered a good thing. As for the rest of the site, immaturity rules, its royal crown askew.

Hi everyone! I'm Jasmine (or rather, it's a penname but I don't want to mix my fiction writing up with my science stuff once I do my PhD and (hopefully) start sneaking fingers into research papers). I've been writing poetry for a few years but this is my first time coming to a forum for critique. I seem to have hit a wall in self-critique, so here I am. This site was recommended to me, and here's to having some fun and a good learning experience here.

Nice to meet you all!
Great to have you here, Jasmine. Hopefully this is exactly the place you want to play Smile
hi jasmine and welcome

we don't care what name you use, all we ask for is a bit of critique. giving it often gets the wall-breaker to work Smile

Good choice, it's always best to wait until after doing your PhD to segregate fiction from science.

(And hopefully this space will prove encouraging on both accounts. Smile )
Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all and thank you for the welcome. Big Grin
