Hi braggman Smile

Welcome to the party Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
I do hope you're prepared... we're a lot less touchy feely than the Dark Underlord crowd... which doesn't mean we don't like stuff, just that we don't like saying we like stuff because we're perverse and nasty, or so I've heard...

I can't say that I am the most bookish in my style. I spent a few decades trying to make my language plainer and and more contemporary with each poem. It gives me a nearly casual tone which I hope isn't mistaken for laziness. I get plenty of comments on the other site, but I hear they pack a better punch over here. Thought I would drop a few of them here (not all at once) and drop a few of my words at the bottom of yours.
Hi braggman

we don't have as many members as some sites but what do have is in general an honesty that's not malicious, feel free to put a poem a day up in each of the forums, and feel free top leave feedback which i see you mentioned Smile

looking forward to to your poetry .
Thanks all. I'm not so touchy freely myself and sycophants aren't much help to me or I wouldn't be posting here.
that's the type of responce we enjoy.

i just left a reply to your first poem Smile

Welcome Braggman. I've seen you around on that "other" site. I was a member there for a while. That place is a joke. Welcome to Pig Pen.

Thanks for the directions Billy. I posted my latest piece. I hope to get some good feedback.

Hi All -

Yumbo here. I'm 48, male, 2nd generation Asian American, from the Great American Midwest. I've been participating in my local writers' roundtables for a while, but my life is becoming too busy for me to participate. I write short essays and poetry, mainly because that's the only form of writing my ADHD will tolerate.

I'm looking forward to submitting some of my stuff.

Sincerely,

Yumbo,
Welcome yumbo! We'll try to keep things varied enough for your attention span Smile
Hi yumbo (love the name)

I see you've already posted something, that's always a good start Smile

Hello Everyone,
I am already a fan of many of the writers here. I am sure some of them remember me too. I live in Chicago and I really enjoy writing, both poetry and longer fiction. I have also written a few professional articles which have been published. I am still growing as a writer. ~Laurie Blum

A hundred thousand welcomes.
hi laurie,
welcome to the site. i'm more of a stunted writer than a growing one Big Grin
take a look round the site and jump on anything that grabs your fancy.

Thank you for the Welcome! I have been trying to read several of the poems and critiques before i comment on anything. Just trying to get a feel of the different levels of critique. I do like the idea that the writer can select which type of feedback to receive. I see the dial goes from gentle to brutal. I learn so much just reading the critiques provided for others.

I have missed you too Leanne. big hug

while some forums expect you to leave feedback in the same forum as you post a poem, here we don't. we realize that like poetry, critique has many levels. on that basis all we ask is that you post some honest feedback to the forum you feel most comfortable in, for instance, you may want in depth feedback on your poem but don't feel confident enough to give in depth feedback to others. in that case just post a bit of honest feedback in mild critique.
hi blackeagle
welcome to the site Smile

Jaksjoku

hello everyone,

I've been reading around the forum and I liked what you guys offered.

I'd love to share some of my tries at poetry for criticism so I'd know what to work on.

feel free, all we ask is that you give a bit of feedback on other peoples work in return Smile

Hi Everyone! I'm new here. Although, I've been peeking for a bit now, through the different fo(rooms). I truly enjoy what Ive seen and read and I feel this is a fun and wholesome place for sharing, reading and learning among poetic spirits. So, I thought I'd try and join the fun. Thanks and best wishes to all. Smile
