Cold War
The air heavy,
Walls erected,
We can’t see.
Not anymore.
Dead, soulless,
Barely alive
in this freezing
Silence.
Go on,
Say something.
Go on,
knock down the wall.
Go on,
Break the damn ice!
Lips parted,
Then closed.
Words struggling,
Yet none escapes.
I can’t,
Not anymore.
Leave the stillness,
Let it suffocate.
Till there’s no pain.
Not anymore.
The last time.
The final war.
Ashes to ashes,
Dust to dust.
Freezing silence,
So cold, it burns.
Leaving scars
That sear forever.
