some are saying it looks like the un could be in it for the long haul, if cameron is still there come the elections he'll be screwed.

Arm the just like the Taliban?, they never learn do they, I think it will drag on (oil still flows anyhow so no rush) but with the riots every other week in London and the public sector and armed forces hating Cameron then I cant see the parliament going full term anyhow.

i really do think it's a just cause. just not sure when it will stop being a just cause.
trust the swedes to send cars over Hysterical

i think everyone wants to be a part of whats going on because it looks like the right thing to do. unlike iraq which was made to appear to be the right thing to do.

why is it the right thing to do?the examples of people killing each other in their own country are many and nothing was done about it,cambodja, rwanda, sudan to name a few

i agree but because they didn't do it there doesn't mean they shouldn't do it somewhere else.
personally i think they wrong not to do something in rwand and sudan and other places.
and if they didn't do something in lybya they'd be wrong as well. just because they let others die should we say no when they decide to save a few? or should we be grateful, even if it's born of greed etc, a good deed is a good deed whatever the reason. if a little good can come from their greed then i won't cry foul.
on the other hand i will cry foul when they don't help those in myanmar etc and do the wrong thing. jmo

maybe i said it wrong.
cos it's not really an argument.

if i wan't something and then do a good turn in order to make sure i get it it doesn#t make me good

if good can be gained from a bad reason then so be it. and no it doesn't make the west saviours, but i wouldn't stop the no fly zone because the west want the oil to flow. i would want it stopped if thats what the people wanted.

we get a reasonable idea when we see them shouting for freedom and trying to get it using their own cars as military vehicles.
no matter what spin the media puts on it they want their freedom. the exodus from the country shows many live in fear. do you think gadafi acted as he did because his people don't want freedom? if so then they need more help than i first thought.

i really think we (the west) get it wrong and do it wrong most of the time. i just think from what i've seen and heard that the majority of libyans want some kind of freedom, i think thats what's happening throughout that region. i believe gadafi is a bully and as such should be stopped.
i also believe the west could and should help other nations where a tyrant has total control and the people want change. sadly we don't we only do the high profile crap or when we feel it's in our own interest. i do understand that and even if the rebels of libya win and then do the same thing, at least something was done.

at present the whole region is in turmoil and nothing but trouble may come from the no fly zone in lybia but i think it's worth a shot if it gets rid of someone i see as a nasty bastard from power.
