Back then, no one knew
when Jesus said, “Peter,
I will build my church on you,”
that he was speaking literally.

Very good, made me laugh and now I'm wide awake again thinking of other things taken literally. Thanks TOMH

This was a fun little read. It made me smile and I feel inspired to write something along those literal lines myself. So thanks for the read and inspiration Smile

Made me laugh as well, thanks for the read. I'm adding to this comment because apparently it was lack of feedback even though every other comment here is simply appreciating the humor. But I guess I'm a special case, so I must give even more reason than the average. I laughed at this because the high school I went to had mandatory chapel instead of homeroom on wednesdays every now and then, but felt like every week. Anyway, with that said, I feel as that my interpretation was very similar to yours, so I can relate to your view on the matter, which is why I laughed so much. Thanks for the read, I hope that even though this is in the fun forum, my feedback meets the guidelines. Good poem

That he was speaking literally. No capital on "that"

Malu. Yes, the verse (of Christ's) came together with the history as I was watching a show on St. Peter's. It hit me so funny I felt compelled to write this ditty.

Mel,
I am no champion to be stealing their breakfast, besides something that healthy would probably kill me. No, I guess it was just one of those rare times my two remaining brain cells fired simultaneously. It's truly amazing what one can do with a nice pair!

And lo, the Lord did say: "Peter, you rock."

This is a great little piece, Dale. Much enjoyed.
It could be worse

Mali, if you wish, comments of almost any kind are.acceptable in the "for fun" forum, just not the critical forums.
