we dreamed the afternoon to life

the organism is a parasite,
unwelcome guest with no respite;
a blood-red rose with piercing thorn,
toxins discharge with callous scorn.

No thorn, a dagger: callous scorn
that pierces fragile armor worn
to guard the ego (soft but stout-
now belittled) oozing doubt.

took all my life to build a shell
so far it has served me well
the soft inside stays protected
just in my eyes is it reflected
reflect the eagle, talons black
reflect the wolf reflect my act
on a cliff side specked with sun
we merge together as we run

lightening what had been dark
shock of survival

feel the rain fall on our hands
thankful for some common land
after a night of pleasant sex
it's nice to wake up
and smell your pungent breath
thankful that you're still there

OK - so who decided the format here is changed? I liked being able to read both poems in the same post - easier to follow changes and responses.
The last two posts don't even seem to link to each other.

I did a bit of tidying, all is well again and the two words are there in each.

although she had a night of sex
somehow she woke up cranky
maybe she needs a bit more sleep
or a good morning spanking.
