Hello, everyone. I came here in the wake of a "friend" of mine, RiverNotch; he's the only other real poet I know and I figured I'd check it out here to see if I can't fix that. Hopefully I'll have some of my writing up soon, and I'd love to get a better look at the impact some of my writing has on the reader.

Hey Shadow. Welcome. I'm new too. Looking forward to seeing your writing.

just jumping on to say hi!! I am pretty new to writing poetry but have a blog where I post my work. I find it very liberating to express myself in that way.

I am a 40 year old pastor and youth pastor. Also a student getting a Masters of Divinity degree. I hope to get a chance to get some help honing in my craft so to speak. Some friends say your stuff is good but you don't know until you have others look at it you know? I would rather get some feedback before I think of doing anything else with my writing.

Hope to get published some day, was thinking of just self publishing and seeing where it goes, who knows.....

Hi I´m new myself. I´m a medical doctor and dont really have a clue about writing. About 3 years ago, I had an inspiration to start writing and poetry seemed a good way to start. It´s a way of self-expression for me.
I hope to learn here and improve on my skill.

Excessive boringness stifles creativity. Science and poetry have been happy bedfellows for centuries, so I hope you find yourself in cosy company.

Both poetry and science have accepted methods but still celebrate innovation and new discoveries.

Hey from the Pacific North West! I've always had a passion for written language- English was always my favorite subject throughout my educational "career". I am looking forward to reading the creative works that others have posted and to share some of my own!

Just saw this.  I have been here since Nov, am another physician (family practice);  folks are friendly but ruthless about the art.  There are good resources throughout the website here esp to learn poetry forms.

I think some of my interest came back after using EMR's with canned notes, I find I can't be as creative in writing notes as I used to (i.e., "a purulent wound sits on an exudative cellulitic base with a central necrotic eschar, where a lack of hair denotes decreased peripheral circulation" won't show up there)

Hello!  I haven't written any poetry in over a decade (could it really be two decades!?!) but have been feeling the itch to start writing again.  I never intend to be great at it, but it's fun trying!

What's the worst that can happen? You misinterpret something? We've all been there, done that (please try to avoid cliches Hysterical ). It's not like we show up and throw eggs at your house. Read poems, comment on them, have fun. Welcome to the site. Smile

Hey all!  I'm new to this forum, and back into the forum scene after a few years away.  I've gotten very into writing in the meantime, and so all of the new forums I've joined pertain to writing.... and I like it that way.  The writing forums seem quite a bit more civilized!  Anyways, I look forward to being here and reading your poetry and sharing some of my own.  I try to keep everything I write positive, so expect some more peace and love on the boards, if just a small amount.  Do not, by the same token, expect any hatred or negativity from my end.  big hug
