I'm Toaster or Toasty or whatever you want to call me... anything with Toast should be fine.
I'm currently working on the lyrics for the first EP of an experimental "band" (if you can even call it that) of a friend and me and found this forum while searching for a place where i could get both criticism and inspiration for my writing and now finally registered. I don't really know much about poetry, so it will be kind of difficult for me to write useful things about other peoples poems, but I'll try my best and also post some of my first poems/songs (<- Doesn't really make much of a difference because of my writing style and our music genre) within the next few days.
Oh, please note that english isn't my first language, so sorry for every mistake I make and maybe leave in my poems even after reading them multiple times.

See ya!

Hi, sounds exciting. I think you've made a good pick to work on poetry on your way to writing good lyrics, but there's a big difference and you may want to look for a lyric writing forum too.

You don't have to have a strong poetry background to post here, especially in the Novice forum, all you have to be is a serious reader and let the OP know your reaction to the poem, pointing out what seem like strong or weak points to you.
I hope you enjoy the site and find it useful.

Raven, please read your welcome letter, which explains how to post. Also, there are instructions at the top of each forum regarding the type of feedback that is acceptable and will be approved by moderators. No mod will ever approve:

in the Serious Workshopping forum. There are many hints and tips around the site as to what constitutes good feedback/critique, and just following the example of other posters is always a good idea.

Hello to everyone! I am fairly new to poetry. I decided to take a shot at it to broaden my horizon in writing and so far, I'm enjoying it. Smile I've been looking around for a great poetry community and came across here. I look forward to being a part of it. Smile
