Insignificant elements
In an array of interconnected entities,
Branch out to one another,
But never truly touch.

Two fiery synapses
Transmit intimate messages,
Electrical impulses of understanding.
Still, the gap remains.

Solitary cells desperately crave
Impossible connections.
Fusion, above all things,
Unattainable.

The neural theme in this poem resonantes well with the human state; we may be engaged deeply but are still individuals. And in our solitude too we seek seemingly elusive union. Well said.
