Just a quick thing I've noticed, was wondering if other people noticed this too, but threads seems to have roughly a 10:1 ratio with Views:Comments.
A few break that, but not by much. Does that strike anyone else as a bit odd/funny?
To be clear --since it seems I need to elaborate-- I'm bringing this up because it seems odd that they are all very similar, and not because I think it's a bad ratio.

When I think about commenting o a poem I probably view it about five times first. Then I go back to view every comment. I doubt I'm that different from others. If it showed unique views instead of total views we'd probably see a less egregious ratio.

Yeah, it's not so much that I find it odd it takes about ten views for things to get comments. It's that I find it odd this ratio holds for most threads, even after the ball gets rolling. It just seems so weird how there aren't some that have different ratios to them.

Todd's most likely right -- most of those views are from people checking back on their own stuff. Some are possibly from google. Plus, I almost never comment on a poem the first time I read it. I read, let it sit in my head for a while then come back to it.
10:1 is actually pretty good.
It could be worse

same here often i only get a chance to read a poem because of time restrictions. the poet will probably read every reply twice if there are any plus a few more per edit and the list goes on.
i'm guessing it's the same for most poem and so they get a similar ratio

Also it is guests - non forum members spying on us, thinking about joining, oh and people who are members who forgot to login.

I've forgotten to log-in a few times. It's probably mostly guests. There seems to be more guests online than regular members on any given time.

I generally just call people "dude," "bro," "man," or sometimes even "you" online and in real life. "Bro" is hard for me to say because of my jaw, and comes out more as "bwo". So that's only with people I'm comfortable with.
It actually depends on my mood. Most of it is imperceptible though, and doesn't show in my post. I do use "more chill" language when I'm not anxious though, whenever that decides to happen.
But if I call you "mate," rest assured I'd very much like to throttle you.
Just... something I picked up from hanging around too many Brits online.

Speaking of noticing stuff, the forum banner has 'Happy Holidays' written on it and an almost invisible Christmas tree.

That still doesn't explain the tree.

actually they are more than 'guests' they are our huge fanbase. YaY!
So technical-bod required to ascertain how many of those 'fans' Sergey brought.
yeah actually I am completely anxious to know how many unique IP addresses and from where the fan base originates.
Probably haven't been here long enough to say this, seems like I am gonna - it is absolutely crystal clear to me that PigPen needs a very intricate and holistic CEM policy to manage them all.

Hahahaha! You win. I concede.
Back to the topic, the forum has been getting a lot of traffic lately, so the view counts skyrocket, mainly from guests I believe.

That's okay you'll probably eventually get a concession from me in chess.

Just wondering, who designed the banner?
