I can't say that many things in my life that fall into the life-changing category originated on the Internet. This forum is an exception to that rule.
From the moment I discovered this place with a click, a whole new world opened up to me. I began to pay respect to the great intellects that visit this forum and because of them discovered many new and wonderful things.
I will admit that before I came here I really didn't even understand what poetry is. Arguably I still don't.
I love The Pig Pen because when I can learn, share and feel welcome anywhere I will hang around. And the people that run the forum are conscientious and fair (and hell-a-entertaining.)
Positive feedback is sometimes as beneficial as criticism.
Why do you love this forum?

Like all the best places to hang out, I love it because of the people here. I love the honesty and openness. It's a place where we can say what we think and not have to worry about people taking offence, because they're grown up enough to realise that different opinions are what make life interesting.
And of course, I love it because Mark's here

I love TPP because Leanne and Billy told me to.
All jokes aside, I love it because you learn from the members and you teach the members. There isn't the standard forum favoritism or comments that just say "Good job." I also like it because while there is a lot of feedback, new poems, or editing going around there's also discussions going and friendships forming. We are learning about our each other as much as we are learning about poetry and how to give/get feedback. We all have different opinions our one similarity and passion is poetry and it really shows on this forum. It's a great place to learn and to enjoy. It's a welcoming, honest, fun place. We all have a goal to improve and it's good that we can help each other out and be there for one another either to help or to praise.

this started as just an experiment. very quickly it became more much more. more often than not people can be honest and helpful, those that want to improve actually get the chance to. the moderation isn't in yer face and generally it's just a reminder. even i get moderated for gawd's sake
it does sound cheesy as hell but i do genuinely love this place. so much so that addy has instructions to keep it going should anything happen to me i kid you not. of course we have small probs now and again but it's a good site with good people in it. it's not a good site because we have good poets, but because we want to end up being good poets. it's almost 3 year old now and it's only really taken off this last 6 months, so much so, that i'm a little scared it may change us. i don't want strong cliques forming, though i know they'll be individual and group friendships. their fine.
i don't talk with jack as much as i did but he was and is one of the reasons i like this place. so are many others. i'm still hoping for that cyber sex moment but it doesn't seem to be happening. but yes, i do love this place.

It's like a place to hang out, except that I don't have to get out of my house, which makes it doubly awesome. Love? Nah. Unless what billy showed me is considered love.

I don't think I'm at the point of LOVING the forum yet. I do like it a lot though.

You're just afraid of sounding sweet again. I'm not sweet on it either. But I like being sour with a sweet aftertaste. That's an advertisement.

In some places it is. In others, it's a felony.
