MY first poem, free verse i think. Just felt like writing down some thoughts...

where do you go when there is nothing but snow

drifting through time a snowflake in summer

some said he would never die

they were wrong

it was a raindrop that smeared his life away

The rain never stopped

It simply dropped

Your poem is interesting. It is free verse, meaning that it has no specific rhyme or meter, save your final two lines. Perhaps they shouldn't be rhyming?

Also, the literal structure is very important as well. Does this way look good to you?

Won't be seeing you through the field of tears I left behind

Welcome Byrnes!

"Just felt like writing down some thoughts..."----just a casual write? Love to see what you come up with when you try.
I think this is intriguing because it feels like there should be something more to it or that I'm missing something. Like it looks simple and reads simple, but it isn't simple. (if that makes sense)

I like this because I just don't know what to make of it so it makes me want to read it over and over.
My nit would be the last line, not just about the sudden rhyme (it seems that it was just unintentional, it just came out that way) but I think "The rain never stopped" would be a stronger ending because it would add to the rain about it not caring about smearing a life away. The last line now repeats the one before so it doesn't offer much to the poem.

Nice imageries. You can try adding some punctuation and introduce a proper structure by splitting the poem into separate stanzas. That will help enhance the quality of the whole poem. I see lots of potential though; it's a really good attempt considering that you just wrote it without trying.
