I get my best inspirations with music, but I can't write in front of other people it distracts me. I'm picky when it comes to writing, but I do believe in "write drunk, edit sober" because I write what ever comes to mind then in a few days I come back to it and rework it.
i seldom write on paper and never poetry. i like the word or notepad so i can erase or remove stuff. i tried the paper thing and it got so bad i couldn't make head nor tail of it. i'm okay writing while people are in the room. but i'm not a musical writer. if i here music i have the urge to leave the poetry and get into the music.

I have 20 something notebooks full of poetry, it might save some trees and clutter if I used the computer. I have attempted writing from the computer for the forum because it's easier to just copy and paste it other than writing it and then typing it. Just need to get use to it.

Whenever inspiration strikes, I'll find a way to write it down, pen, pencil, paper, my own skin etc. Once, I even wrote verses on my examination question paper. Nowadays I mostly use my phone to type verses out, then go home and work on it on the computer. Personally, I don't need any specific conditions to write well, but a quiet and dimly lit room is preferred.
