cosmetic surgery for victims of fire and those in medical need of it would be okay, but other than that all cosmetics and cosmetic surgery are off limits.
i think their would be fewer pregnancies to start with . all that grey hair that guys like to disguise, all the wiggary done away with, if you're bald you're seen to be bald. while some women look stunningly beautiful without make up on some look stunningly rough what would be the implications of such a world.
would vanity decrease? what would it do to the modelling industry. what would be the implications?

To be fair, we've seen some true horrors coming from the plastic surgery crowd .
This is a tough question. Vanity has manifested in human culture for a very, very long time. If its cosmetics, its clothes; anything that will convey status/desirability. We'll learn to look at something else.
To the question about fewer pregnancies... I don't think so. People will be horny either way. We'll just lower our standards
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

or close our eyes
it's true, we beautify with clothes as well but i think that's okay, because we've shown from the nuddy thread that we really do have to clothe ourselves for valid reasons. but we don't need to use eye liner and lip gloss, etc.
what would the money saved from not buying cosmetics be spent on? no perfumes or face packs, that's billions of dollars world wide.

hehe, come on spill the beans, why is that?
i hate seeing guys wearing make up. i suppose because of the way i was brought up, and the tv presenters who are caked in the shit it often makes them look like pot dolls

As far as money saved, only consumers would be saving money. A huge industry would be decimated, so what would the economic impact of that be? I think women would find replacements, ashes, natural dyes, etc. Hell, I would use markers if need be on my eyes and lips.
There is a fine line between vanity and pride. There doesn't seem to be a medium. Women are either blasted for taking pride in their appearance or told they are being unprofessional if hair and makeup and clothes don't fall in line.
Personally, this is a topic that may make for some interesting observations, but the bottom line for me is personal choices regarding how people spend their own money should never be dictated.

i really like it when the make up on a woman is put on properly, and that can mean the overdone stuff of goths etc, what doesn't work is make up that looks too much, i do prefer it to be subtle but of course i'm being sexist and not thinking what the woman actually likes. i do know my daughters were always gratefull when i told them to scrape away half the shit they'd put on .

i think like anything, if it's done well, it works.
if make up was banned or disappeared, would it level the playing field in any way as for as getting a partner?

Level the playing field?
So, some ugly women are experts at redefining their faces?
Hmmmm...
