Well I was busted 30 years ago for cultivation for the purpose, Where were you then? I've learned a thing or two since then, the most important thing of all is don't get busted.

Fuck...I did alot of that myself....I remember one person in particular, this guy really went all out,lol. I built him a shop, 40 feet wide by 60 feet long. He filled it with cabnet makeing tools and ran a school out of it, but not really, it was a cover. He had a seperate power entrance hooked up to it and I ran an underground drop to an underground bunker which i also built for him. Fello grew the best dope in the province up till his death last year. Never did get cought. He will be missed but his dope grows on!

Its not genetics, if you give the plant room to grow its roots in the ground it will in turn grow tall. If the roots are confined somehow then the plant will be stunted.

You truly do not know what you are talking about.

Today's many cannabis varieties are carefully crafted hybrid strains that are a mix of the original Cannabis Indica, Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Ruderalis plant genetics. The modern strains have been specifically crafted so that they will grow short and stout under indoor lights, with big fat flower tops. People growing pot that is to be smoked, are not interested in long stalk varieties only suitable for making rope.

You stuff a plant in a pot and constrict its growth then the green will have limited resources for growth. You let the roots grow deep in mother earth then then it will reach for the sky.
These were strains from over 20 years ago. The only breeding done was pollination from one plant in a bread sack then stick a branch of the female into the same sack. Nothing fancy. No lights no timers. Some fertilizer and the info resource available was a magazine called High Times.
You may say I do not know what I am talking about but then again I was gainfully "self employed" for 10 of of those 14 years.

Yes that way works as well but there are others that include modifing height, and yeild as well as THC production. But I would not know really as I know nothing about growing the stuff.

Indoor plants are much shorter. Different genetics.

it's why i asked. to get real good bud from outdoor plants is rare.

True but you have to isolate the male as soon as you can tell it is a male or else it will seed the whole female. Some of the males were cropped short and grown under lights to mature.

As for cropping it I found if you pull it sideways when it is young then clip those branches that stalk up yo get multiple tops instead of just one or two. A few times the main stalk of the plants grew into a "S" shape and it looked literaly like a hedge about 25' long and 10' thick and maybe 20' hi.

The leaf and stems of the plant was fair mulch fertilzer but not the best.
farm fertilizer (like Royally Mounted Canadian Police Poo) was the best and cheapest at the time.

I always got paranoid near harvest because the smell was intense in a huge radius and I was waiting for a police dog to go by and throw a fit but instead some of the local twiticas took it upon themselves to investigate and I can tell you that those electric horse fence wires work very well on non-horses.
