I remember the harvest parties we used to have. After the plants were pulled and hung to dry for maybe 2 weeks we would sit and trim all the excess leaf off the buds. The scissors would get sticky and dull with the resin build up on the blades.
Our fingers would be sticky as well and without smoking anything (and about 3 20lb plants later) we would literally be buzzed w/o smoking it.
This was the type of weed that tasted so sweet in the smoke that you moved your tongue and lips like you were tasting a fine wine. You take 2 small tokes and put it down and wait for it to creep up on you. Next thing you know you find even idiotic movies like asteroid amusing to watch..

Indoor plants are much shorter. Different genetics.
it's why i asked. to get real good bud from outdoor plants is rare.
the indoor pic looks spot on though, that's a nice sized crop Smile

@ scruffus:

that's the best time to get the pollen.
right as it's been picked. just as it's drying out.

Police raids close down around 9,00 of these grow-ops each year, but it only takes 48 hours to start up a new one. Quality pot sells for around $225 per ounce these days.

Read more about Canadian pot here: http://www.cannabisculture.com/
the price is about the same in the uk.

not sure how much they grow in the uk. i doubt it's as much as that.
though the single room ops seem comparable.

Its not genetics, if you give the plant room to grow its roots in the ground it will in turn grow tall. If the roots are confined somehow then the plant will be stunted.
(male plants were uprooted and confined elsewhere to harvest the pollen later)
All the plants I was referring to were outdoor plants. They were on the average about 15' tall and often had to be tied down to keep the tops from pressing against the ceiling of the green house...

Not in the US and not for the sumptuous tasty sweet ambrosia I call quality.
Try $500 and up depending on the pollination (to make seeds) history.

You can find it for $225 but that crap is a totally different hi.

the best way to stop the plant reaching for the sky is to nip the top of it. it gives more buds. helps keep the plant down and mkes it sprout more offshoots.

one of the main reason the plants dont grow as tall is you don't usually have an 8 hour night. mostly the lights are on apart from short bursts of dark. if you want a tall plant just put it in a wardwrobe with a pin prick of light at the top, it shoots up but has little body

some strains have been cultivated as vfog says for lower growth and bushiness but even these will be tall and stringy if grown outdoors.
in general it depends what method is used to grow the plant. usually after a twelve week cycle you're ready for another grow if done indoors.

out side it depends on too many variables to get it right. plus the earth eats up too many of the nutrients and so the plant feed has to be much more loaded in order to feed or bulk the plants up.

using rooting poweder the top of the plant will regrow into a good plant. for me these always made the best of cuttings which could be had from whole plant.

If they were not, they would rapidly grow right up into the 1000 Watt lamps and catch on fire. In order to grow the plants to maturity as quickly as possible, they get 18 hrs of light and 8 hrs of darkness per day. It takes around 11 weeks to grow a crop. The production cost boils down to Kilo Watt Hours consumed per finished gram of dried, sterile, seedless female flower top.

This is very true and if done correctly a crop can be had every 4 weeks yeilding about 4 pounds in a very small space.Smile

so you have 26 hours in your days :p

most who grow steal the electric so it's not registered as specific use.
not if they've been pinched out. when this is done it causes the plant to grow out instead of up. it's done with many many plants

and yes, i did agree that certain strains are bred for indoor growing.

you plant of of those fuckers outside in a field though, and whatch it zoom four foot higher than it would under cover.

the on off light procedure varies through the plants life cycle. get the cycles wrong and you'll fuck up the harvest.

You can run what ever cycle you want. 16 on 8 off....36 on 10 off 4 on 2 off. Has nothing what so ever to do with the 24 hr cycle of our day.

yes benny but a day is 24 hours.

while a cycle can be anything.

so ina day you have a split of off and on but it has to add up to 24.

you can of course have a 36 hour cycle etc but thats not a day or daily cycle. a day is 24 hours.

So what, you people are nut's, it has nothing to do with a 24 hr cycle at all. Nothing.

Yes, sort of, you need to set up a system that will time out in intervals that does not use a 24hr cycle. A real cheap one is called an on/off switch.

Doing my very best to prove that to you. Then again. Smile
