One who breaks an unjust law that conscience tells him is unjust also knows the penility for doing so and that one has broken the law unjust or not.

Yes I was pretty clear when I said born there. But not just born there as I see you comeing a long way off. Born and raised there in the traditions that his fathers and grandfathers and their fathers and grandfathers were raised in. Ok so go ahead and go there but do not expect an answer from me.

Divorce in Egypt;
If the man wants to get a divorce the man simply states to the woman that she is dismissed, she can go or he is done with her.
If the woman wants a divorce that is just to damn bad. She will have to go to court, if she is allowed and in many cases that can last up to 8 years.

Fun times.

^^on topic^^

in many ways we're immigrants.

but to get really back on topic. shouldn't any unjust law in any land be changed. or shouldn't people at least try to change them?

Sure by the natives of the land with the unjust laws. But not by some other country in the name of global good will. Screw that. They have been living that way for as long as we can remember (they have the 2nd longest human written history..) so who would (we be to) jump in and say hey you need to live like we do. UNLESS the government of the land with the unjust laws specifically ask for help. Then fecal matter is a gonna hit the rotary oscillator.

so we outside saudi don't have the right to say we think that such a law is wrong. i'm really interested to see where this is going because what you're saying is we have no freedom of speech (within certain confines of course)

Talking about it in our own country and getting your hands in other peoples business are totally different. Talk about it all you want. Here where the freedom of speech is excercised daily.
Go to a Saudi country where speaking against the established protocol is forbidden and see how long you can talk about it before your tongue is removed, infidel.

Don't get me wrong, I think some of the ways concerning human rights and civil humanitarian is completely whacked (more so then us ours). I enjoy freedom of speech, I exploit it. But we are talking about how we have to love the saudis are we not? The way they live there life, the customs ect. That culture has been around longer then ours.

We have no real right to jump in the middle and tell anybody how they live is wrong.
Unless they ask for help. Then we can be complete snots and act holier then tho and consider them barbaric. Oh wait we do that already, silly me.

whose jumping in anywhere. all we're doing is discussing it here. i'm saying i think it's wrong what they do and i'm basically being told to mind my own business. i'm not telling anybody anything. all i'm doing is voicing my opinion.

i can see now thats wrong and i should have stfu. gtf. this forum is set up so that we can voice our opinions. this is not a suadi board, i'm not in saudi. i can say what i wish. and so can you, the difference is that when you say i shouldn't be saying what i am i can tell you to fuck off without the fear of losing a hand.

I don't think anyone is saying that to you bill. Your taking it the wrong way, atleast the way i read things anyway. Sure we have the right to voice our opinion, thank fuck for that man but we have no right what so ever to go into another country and force feed our ideals down the throwts of cultures that have exsisted for hundreds if not thousands of years. That is what we tend to do, stick our unwanted nose's in other's affairs. Who are we to say their way is wrong? Our way is obviously better just look at the crime rates. If someone did indeed loose a hand it would for sure keep alot of others from making the same mistake.
Just saying that our's has not proven to be better, but we do repeat what we are tought and that is that it is better because we are told it is and the debate on that is over, is that not so?

I agree. How they treat themselves (especially the females) is very wrong. How they do it and what they do is very wrong from my perspective. Barbaric does not begin to describe it. Rednecks persian style.
(If I told you to mind your own business would you? No, so I wont bother.)
To discuss it here is fine and grand and thats the way things are here.
You voiced your opinion which I agree with. Being the devils advocate, and a citizen of a country known for sticking its nose where it does not belong I had to say who are we To Go Over there and tell them that they are the fuktwats that they are? Eventually they will pull there ignorant heads out of there hairy asses and see the light or smell the camel patty's or whatever but that wont happen anytime soon as far as I can see.

Now remember, wipe with your left, shake hands with your right.

i think there comes a point when people do stand up and say. enough is enough.

i think iran is feeling it now. i think there it'll get a lot worse. specially for those who stand up for the laws to be changed.
