The autopsy should show what killed this man,
tomorrow he will access the camera feed,
tonight he'll log reports and forge a plan.
For now he'll question Dave for any leads.
'Do you know if he had any hobbies?'
'i know that he'd spend weekends at the track
and sometimes be hopped up on the job, he's
an avid rock climber? When he came back
from prison though, I don't know.' Captain Mart-
in clicks his teeth, 'you've known him a long time
then?' 'Just what people talk about,' Dave starts
cracking his knuckles, witnessing a crime
has left him stressed out, aching for his bed.

To win an election you
were poised to win regardless
might be worth a sigh
of relief, but nothing more:
triumph not until
the next election, too,
is sure, with all the liable
heads having rolled.

In the Can
Let’s not spoil suspense
in spite of knowing this is episode
number five of thirteen in
season one.
The bush could pull out in his hand
and whirl away as Talent falls
a half-kilometer toward
(front-projected) stony river valley.
Don’t laugh, it could happen.
The life of Talent isn’t guaranteed:
a drunken car wreck, activation
of a morals clause could leave
Production happy they had shot
that scene with its dying fall
assuring Talent it was just
dream-sequence footage for
his scrapbook. Out-takes.
Leaving Scripts to churn eight episodes
mourning Captain Steve’s untimely
fall from sound-stage cliff-side
or from grace.
