I'm happy to have a reader enjoying the alliteration. I try, often unsuccessfully, to rein it in but I just love all those slippery sounds.

Ella, your 'rein it in' reminded me of the song I've been listening to on repeat lately. On the way to lectures, during a food shop, or while I'm getting ready. It's by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean. Olivia is currently a national treasure here in the UK, she lights up a lot of the miserable grey skies we're accustomed to. Walk into any cafe or shop over here, and you'll most likely hear one of her songs playing.

I think the message is... don't rein it in - ever! Poets should never!

She flits across my feed sometimes, pretty fabulous Hysterical Gonna listen to some more now.

But in my experience poets more than anyone need to rein it in sometimes. Just saying.

Listened to the newest, strong pop but this is really dreamy.

I am not familiar with her but I will listen a little later.

And yah, poets do need to rein it in now and then.  But I think they also need to let it run sometimes.

If we weren't running we wouldn't need reins.  big hug

Good morning (or afternoon or evening)

Cats would be perfect if they could just make a cup of coffee.

I can just about now say Good afternoon, just turned midday here.

What's everyone's Saturday plans? I'm heading out for brunch in a bit with two friends.  Tongue

Looking out for a 12-year-old while he's waiting for his first sibling, hopefully coming today. Gonna have to make my own brunch, or maybe we'll take him out, good idea. Smile

I intend to NOT do any more work but rather move my garden to a new spot for this year (not enough sun where it is currently (though don't fret that area will repurpose as a mini garden)) clean up the yard a bit to get ready for Spring planting and maintenance (might tend to the fire area social ring while I am at it) at some point drive to my daughter's house to fix her heat (fully intend to drink all her husband's beer while I am there) and then make dinner, thinking maybe homemade pierogies but we will see.

Sounds full, fun and productive, good on you.

Hope you both had fun! Beer, pierogies and siblings - sounds like an ideal Saturday to me.

well, I did get to fix my daughter's heat and move my garden and clean up the yard and prepare for Spring a bit (my favorite season).  After that I was a bit beat - we lit a fire in the fire area and had chili dogs and beer (still no complaints)

I have noticed the daffodils beginning to erupt in front of my door, I think it's very much ripe for Spring. Been an awfully long winter. A warm fire and chilli dogs sounds utopian to me.

I had a few beers with friends at a quaint little pub this evening, looking out at the suspension bridge in my city spanning about 1000 feet. I thought it'd be the perfect spot to write something, but perhaps a little antisocial of me. I wish I could attach photos, but I don't think I'm tech-savvy enough (I have tried).

I could help but you seem just as content to let it hang out there as an image.  Same.

It may have been on the other thread, but Claude is significantly better than ChatGPT in critiquing poetry. It gets allusions in a jiffy.

Ah, but then I wouldn't read the poem twenty times trying to figure out what I'm missing. Don't mess with my joy.

I feel like Claude understands poems just fine but doesn't really have much interesting to say about them

Been trying to write songs using my own dialect so it's funny that you should find this. There's another phrase that I could use.
For years I thought my accent just sounded odd for singing and then 'Sting' who comes from the same place as me, 'Wallsend' and went to the same bloody school as me brought out an album called 'The Last Ship' about Wallsend and he sings it in his native Geordie accent and slang and it sounds good to me. So if Sting can do it then why not.

Happy Sunday everyone

I remember hearing it when it came out and the show has been on and off various stages in NY. I think it's got a short run coming up at the Met, bet it runs around London too.
I'm listening now, good morning Smile

Happy Sunday!

You'll have to let me know if it makes sense to you Ella. If he's toured with it then it must work to some degree.

The track that I like is called 'Hadaway', he sounds reet Geordie like

I did a once through of the album, now I'm on a live performance of the songs with a bit of Sting chatter about them, which is lovely. All relatable, a universal story. I'll come back to Hadaway when it's done.

So something's in the air. Not long ago milo popped up and today I heard from another old friend, the one who had gotten me to restart writing poems the last time, 15 years ago. I'm a bit spooked, what's up?

Spent the day doing a shopping for some new parents and then holding their babe, nothing but smiles, wonder what her dreams are, maybe floating.

Milo popped up? In person? Do you both live in New York?
