The Elegance of Arrogance

The Elegance of Arrogance

They speak in verdicts, not questions
Mouths full of iron certainty
No pause between thought and sentence
No room for the air of doubt

They scan for confirmation
Reject contradiction
Truth to them, is whatever
It’s the only script they’ve read

They do not ask, they declare
They do not listen, they denounce
Every conclusion is a coffin
Slammed shut with their certainty

They fear the unknown
So they rename it wrong
They fear complexity
And crush it with conviction

They silence what they can’t control
Their words arrive like sermons
Not to enlighten, but to diminish
To demand obedience to their vision

Possibility is a latent threat
A crack in the surety they adore
They seal it with polished disdain
And call it knowing, well actually
