I never knew hate .
I never knew how it could overshadow every other emotion.
Over shadowing them all
Reducing them, dulling them
Until until until
They were unrecognizable and unused.
I never knew hate before.
I never knew it had a taste
Until someone mentioned your name
And the vile bitter flavor
Rose from my gut into my throat
And it spilled out of my mouth
As sarcasm and insults and pain
I never knew hate before,
I never knew it had a sound
Until the pounding, pounding, pounding
Of my heart told me so
Until the words went
Swirling
Spinning
Screeching
Screaming
In my head
The same words over and over
I hate him. I hate him i hate him
I never knew hate before.
Before I knew you
I never knew how it could overshadow every other emotion.
Over shadowing them all
Reducing them, dulling them
Until until until
They were unrecognizable and unused.
I never knew hate before.
I never knew it had a taste
Until someone mentioned your name
And the vile bitter flavor
Rose from my gut into my throat
And it spilled out of my mouth
As sarcasm and insults and pain
I never knew hate before,
I never knew it had a sound
Until the pounding, pounding, pounding
Of my heart told me so
Until the words went
Swirling

Screeching
Screaming
In my head
The same words over and over
I hate him. I hate him i hate him
I never knew hate before.
Before I knew you
