I just read a bunch of quotes from her, someone calling her the sharpest tongue in New York and the wittiest American poet, have you read her poetry?  Any thoughts?

I have not read her poetry because until this post, I didn't know she had written poetry.  But I love her quotes.

Whenever there would be a knock on the door of her New York apartment, she would say: "What fresh Hell is this?", a quote I use frquently.

Thanks for the tip.  I'm going to look up her poems.

At least her first book of poems is in public domain and can be found at poets.org.  Here's one I really liked call Resume (e.g. Re-zu-may, don't know how to add the accents)

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren’t lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.
