How I once loved you

How I once loved you
in places that are nameless.
In the spring, we are blameless -
who knows what can be.
Though time casts out feelings
into the sea,
when the wind comes back reeling,
old longings follow, stealing,
always shameless.

Oh, but the shame's important!  As Mark Twain remarked, man is the only animal that blushes... or needs to.  Wink
