Thanks for doing this, Tiger. I haven't been writing lately and will try to use this to kick my butt in gear. I can't do it every day, but will try and write at least three a week.
My Escape
Five hundred miles an hour
at thirty thousand feet
pressed against the elbow
of a snoring man in a Yankees shirt
speckled yellow with mustard,
I lift up the window shade
to look at a mountain
I will never remember.

Salvador's elephant
takes me on a ride.
Into the future,
strength pushing me
through the darkness.
Fading over a velvet blanket,
of twighlight orange sky
flickers away into a pool of its wax.
Death projects on the plateau ahead.
His raspy laugh ripples throughout the night.
I look behind for respite
but there stands another.
My future and past converge upon me
and the elephant dies
in the collision.

Any verse written
after 1914
speaks only of ages
before if it's anything
more than a fragment.
In an age where all
can end through nothing
but a telegram, endings
strike the reader as terribly
old-fashioned, stamping
individuality in something
so generic as poetry
like a life-changing trip
to Cancun.
((i write these in the phone and it was easier to delete and repost than to edit xD))

This is the part where we are cruising in the submarine.
We got the whole crew, we know what to do.
Cruising in the yellow submarine
It's the one the Beatles sang about.
Got it at the submarine store
It was the cheapest one All around
Luckily I got a pretty damn good mechanic
I forgot what I was saying hahaha
This is the part where we are cruising in the submarine
Before we got to anything crazy
Just having a good ole time
We are having an adventure
Got the whole crew right next to me
Have we come up with a name? Mechanic, shaman.
Well just add a new person Everytime we need someone.
We start with the one person, and then they get the boat
With the other person I guess. Submarine not a boat.
Submarine, then a translator shows up
When it's time to translate, eventually
There's 20 people in Atlantis talking to fish.
I don't know if that works
He hey hey yeah
That sounds good make it sound good.
This is the part where we are cruising around
Nothing bad happened yet, rolling around
Got everybody here no one's been hurt yet.
We are coming up to something in the distance.
In the distance.
We are coming up to something I can see,
I can see yeah.
What is that over there? I ask
My resident expert marine biologist
I said hey! Emilio! What is that over there?
What is that over there?
Emilio turns to me and says, 'i don't know!
Never seen anything like that in my whole life!'
Never seen anything like that in his life?!
I thought you were the expert!
Emilio the marine biologist,
Doesn't even know what this is
Somebody, it's a fish! Just goes to show
We've explored less of our ocean than we have in space!
And I'm pretty sure the ISS is fake.
Have you seen the video of the guy
With the bubbles coming out of his space suit?
The only way that could happen is if they were in water!
They were in water!
We were on an adventure, underwater excursion
I said here's everyone in the crew:
Medic, shaman, marine biologist, underwater welder
Then there's me, the fearless leader
I don't really have any special skills
Other than being awesome hahaha
*Distorted voices
Something crazy is about to happen it's been too easy
Do you hear the ominous tones? It screams!! Haha
Man! That was uh, hey shaman! That's some good acid
I forgot to tell ya we have a shaman in our group
Cause without a shaman, who's supposed to do
the Ayahuasca ceremony? I mean we're in a submarine
For gods sakes you gotta have Ayahuasca
Cause if you can't be in touch with losing everything
You know like your whole identity, what you think is you
And you know, why are we even here? I don't know!
*Distorted voices
Ahhh!!! I'm not freaking out!
Hey Jacque! Do you guh noo mah submarine to you??
Ahhh!!!!!

I Know Why the Caged Squirrel Runs
Heading west, wheels whirling at
some fraction of the earth’s rotation
at this latitude my rubber
tires pull planet ‘round its axis
gaining me an hour in transit.
Heading east, awhirl at just
that same rate there’s no hope of progress:
catching up were supersonic
so each thousand miles an hour
is lost to be regained at rest.
Overhead the stars dance quadrilles
laughing at our plight and sun
and planet far beneath their notice
had they notice to be taken:
we’ve got minds which they have not.

Casanova escaped from the jukebox live
his first stop was J. Edgar Hoover’s hive
where a carriage was waiting with luggage for two.
The radio played Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.
Together they fled southwest to Dodge City
but Sheriff Matt Dillon had no pity
for a pair of misplaced lovers on the run
so they headed for Hollywood’s eternal sun.
Tab Hunter hid them at the bottom of his pool
John Wilkes Booth was already there, teaching school,
Edgar and Giacomo tried to blend in
but a Marx Brother made jokes about their sin,
so they stole a Studebaker and made for Big Sur
but Kerouac was already perched there and with a slur
cast them off an emerald cliff and so they grew wings
And flew north to Alaska where the Eskimo sings.
Perry Como was on their trail, a turtlenecked thug
he surrounded their igloo with transistor bugs
to broadcast the sounds of their imminent capture
but it was too late to lull the sounds of their rapture.
So there the chase ended, the deed had been done
broken-hearted America let go of its gun
Edgar and Giacomo lived happily ever after
on dried fish and fresh seal meat and devious laughter.

Tulum
A moonsilk sky embraces
the ancient city, illuminating
an old man on a worn bench,
with a tin cup, who reaches
as a graying stray approaches
to nuzzle his outstretched hand.
As I pass by, they look
right through me.

By Way of Apology
the last time
we were at Peggy's Cove
I was a rolling fog
of wine and weed
and you were too forgiving
the lighthouse looked exactly
like the lighthouse looked
the last time we looked at it
the briny air still stunk
like a fisherman's shorts
and the seafood was still overrated
you asked me a question
about the tides
and I made you feel stupid
