Real Poetry

does not come from the heart
but instead the stomach.

I give flavor
to the bland
and check

the expiration date
on this alphabet soup.

You talking about the manipura chakra? In a way it does. Or the one right above. My poetry comes from the lower ones. I told somebody once the soul was in the stomach. He didn't believe me. But I feel it there. And below. My heart mostly gives me heartburn. Which isn't the same thing as heartache. Heartache, I feel lower.

Always love poems about poetry - esp. when intended as fun. "Alphabet Soup" reminds me of an infinite number of monkeys on an infinite number of typewriters.

Kinda like it -- feels like it would be more of a zinger though if the last three lines were cut out.
