Chickenmen

What sort of chicken lays white eggs?
The un-bred hen’s are green, or brown, or grey,
And they’re speckled with traces of
All things found in nature.

Do their birdbrains want to trick us?
They wish the fault was never there,
And hide the proof of their creation
With a whitewashed shell.

I'm not sure if I'm getting your message here - can't really imagine an unbred hen. I kept hens for eggs for years, and there were different coloured, shaped, and sized, eggs - including white. The fact that eggs are laid through the common cloaca means that endearing trace of shit on the egg that traps the fluffy bum feather. I'm wondering if I'm missing clues in your poem - the shell could be the shell in the birth of Venus, but white-washed, and un-bred, could refer to discrimination on the basis of colour.

Hi!

I gave it three read throughs...and i'm sorry to say, it just feels incomplete. I cant decipher what its trying to say...and I do normally love finding the hidden messages/puzzles with. So, I guess id suggest this; try adding 2 more stanzas - with your original intent in your mind - and see if you can make its message clearer.

Good Luck!
