--I was convinced that I had missed
--------your infinite blue horizons,
-shimmering empty expanse
-----and your terrifying
--unfathomable depths.
--When we met again
-----------I knew instantly that I had missed
-your intimidating growls,
--------------thunderous booming
--rumbles and roars.
-------Hissing, screaming,
-frothing,
------crescendo upon crescendo.
--Your whispers,
--------your moans,
-and your soft
------trickling lullaby gurgles.
Only then did I know I was back home.

I think this is a great little poem, "trickling lullaby gurgles" gets me. Thanks for the read!

Hey Mark-
Seems like an interesting spin on the hometown weather. Or, it could be someone personified as the weather.
Either way, a tidy read.

Thanks for that Mark,
It is the sea that I am describing, but after your comment I can totally understand your reading as weather, it all fits very well. I am quite happy for it to be read both ways. Also, to me the sea is in some ways a type of weather anyway, especially when it's not calm.
Thanks again,
Mark

the title opens the poem. while i enjoyed the read i never got much of her being a representation of the sea, if instead it was about her the wife of poseidon then i see no reason why she was away. the piece does have some cliche.....and i just realized i'm in miscellaneous .....an enjoyable read
