The Last Halloween

The Last Halloween

Twilight time, the ghouls unleashed,

like dark Santas in reverse,
to each house they drag their bags,
saying lines so oft rehearsed.

'Trick-or-Treat' means give me candy,
with each assault upon the doors,
flying like a pack of witches,
greedy to collect still more.

Sugar coma, the mighty fall,
still no worse than I have seen,
just the signal that we're through,
with this latest Halloween!

My mom, the eternal dieter, bought a giant bagful, put it in a bowl days early and raids it in the middle of the night.

Treat's a trick.

I hate these Trick or Treaters, I really do. I'd sooner open my door to a Jehovah's Witness.
You've an aberrant apostrophe in Santas. I can't help it.
Before criticising a person try walking a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticise that person, you are a mile away.... and you have their shoes.
