Equinox
#1
A winter breeze against my summer skin
Wakes me up to fall asleep again
Slept through the season of facing death
Autumn, you are not my best friend
Anymore
Your beautiful colors welcomed me as a kid
Blood red, so innocently morbid
But now i hear your fleeing bird song
And i know the snow won't cover the blood for long

Now that my hands are stained
You can walk away
Come back again with a clean slate
You think you can frame me, Mr. Equinox?

The spring sun shines upon my face
Melting the frost of my past years fate
This tastes so familiar on my old tongue
New life, I realize you are not young
Anymore
The fresh tendrils welcomed me as a kid
Playmate, so innocently drawn in
But i hear the returning bird song
And i know this life wont thrive for long

Now that your hands are clean
You return to me
Bearing flowers to say your sorry
You think you can change me, Ms. Equinox?

I see you now, i know your purpose
So many times around, I am your purpose
You want to burn me down
Just to freeze me
Then thaw me out
And try to call me something
I'm sorry, Equinox
I failed you
I'm sorry, Equinox
You failed me

You have i sometimes, I sometimes; there are a few errors, you're/your and years/year's and wont/won't; some forced rhymes; and punctuation could be better.

Overall, the theme could be better handled. It doesn't start out all that bad, but it slips a few times, and just falls apart at the end.

Maybe it's supposed to fall apart at the end.
