I had a booger buddy
his name was Slippery Dan
I found him in my nostril
and I kept him in a can
I talked to him each morning
I talked to him each night
and Dan was never noisy
he was always quite polite
But Dan was fat and juicy
as boogers tend to be
and one day I got hungry
and ate him for my tea
It could be worse

Yuch! Like the poem though!

"and Dan was never noisy"
shouldn't that be
"and Dan was never nosey"?
God your gross Leanne, and I mean that in the most positive sense of the word.

This is how old I'm getting... I actually forgot I posted this so I hadn't even checked back. Writing poems for kids is great fun, and nowhere near as easy as it ought to be
Thanks for being grossed out, everyone!

You make this look easy, great fun piece, middle verse needs more visuals for the book. I once worked making flavours for milk, my bogeys could be strawberry chocolate or banana depending what product we were running.
If your undies fer you've been smoking through em, don't peg em out

This is just freaking hilarious. Do you publish these ditties for the kiddies? If not, you really should. OMG just amazing, you are!

My son recited this one for his class. It's his poem now.

Well....steal it back (or ask him nicely if you must) and I'll do the artwork. It seriously should be published, and I don't say that often.

I combed his hairs each morning
and rolled him up at night
sometimes I stuck Dan to the wall
It gave him quite a fright.

No, they usually just say "go away and stop picking your nose"

pfft... Philistines. They're probably quite biased against earwax as well.
Bright as gold or dull as pus,
slightly tangy to the tongue,
rightly praised by otophiles:
quite a handy earhole bung.
Sticky germ infested mass;
flicky ball of hurling goo;
wicky fuel in times of need;
quickie sandwich filling too.

How did I miss this one? I'll read it to my son. I'm sure he'll love it, like I do.
Last line question: Would with be better than for?

Not in my country, sunshine! I know you yanks think of tea as just the drink, but we have morning and afternoon tea as meals, albeit light ones. But if you're reading it to your son, the substitutions are all up to you

Well we yanks don't think of boogers as a liquid, but okay.
