SERENITY
#1
Soft as a whispered note
the piano plays a gentle hum,
melodious..
Soothing my wandering thoughts,
into daydream..
hushed,
entranced,
calm.

The world around me dance
in slow mo.
Distance across the sky,
the golden orb swirls its flustered halo,
in scattered hues of ember ,
Leisurely, settling into the twilight hour.

Darkness stretches its silhouettes of shadows
Lace-worked in leaves and trees,
through cracks and hallows.

High above, birds call,
mellows a siren’s scream
beneath, crickets sing
and somewhere, frogs croak,
in unison.

The warmth kiss of a gentle waft
scented in flowery whiffs,
stirs my soul.
Paused in tranquil joy, listening
senses alight
to natures harmonious passage.

Sweetly acquiescing to night,
in graceful poise,
day is done.
