i can understand what both TS and moobs say and to a certain extent agree with both. (call me a fence sitter 
)
here's my take;
i think all jobs that require mainly physical abilities should have the same entry level for both sexes. same height same strength etc. the biggest question should be; are they capable of doing the job. the same goes for jobs requiring mental aptitude. it should be the same test for everyone and if they pass they get short-listed.
and again the same for jobs requiring digital dexterity. test and pick.
thing is and call me sexist if you will. i think there are times when only a male or female will do for certain jobs. i personally don't believe females should work in male prisons and vice versa. sometimes who works where has less to do with the job as it does with what environment your in.
often women are paid less than male counterparts. this is something i don't agree with.
what about in the homes. how many households have the male as the dominant head. i'd hazard a guess that despite women running households more than men, men in the main have alpha status. personally i think the household side of sexism is often worse than the workplace.
i like to think of myself as non sexist but i don't always act that way
i try and make sure we have equal say in most matters but there's that word MOST. there are time when i put my foot down and there are times when she does. (i think i do it a little more than her though she usually gets her own way)

another side of sexism is gays, and while it's not really a sexism issue i feel it should be.we often treat them less than or differently than ourselves because of their sexual orientation. in the work place outside selective jobs they can get some pretty crappy treatment. i think some of those issues should also be addressed as being sexist.
