This is wonderful... so much flavor and character, with a confident and powerful narrative voice. Flowed really well too, save maybe for a few long spots. A slight polish and it'll be golden. 
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?
