The primary beneficiaries of the ban on industrial hemp production in the U.S. are the makers of nylon fiber and the wood pulp producers.

Not quite coincidentally, the DuPont family (nylon) and the Hearst newspaper syndicate (wood pulp) were the strongest and best financed supporters of the "Reefer Madness" anti-marijuana hysteria in the 1930s that led to the total ban on domestic hemp production in the U.S.

Exactly right V.F. and I believe they were so vehemently against "Hemp Products"
because they believed it would threaten their individual fortunes down the line.
Sadly this country is far behind the times as far as drugs and other "relevant issues" are concerned.
Instead of wasting money on interdiction we should be spending money on
"treatment on demand" programs and utilizing our limited resources
on initiating programs to help farmers grow hemp and stop farming/growing
corn which they use to our detriment in foodstuffs,dog,cat foods and generally
as a low cost substitute for every damn thing!
I like corn don't get me wrong, but we shouldn't be feeding
it to our farm animals nor using it in our foods as fillers.
I write letters sign petitions and demonstrate whenever possible
to help promote hemp as a healthy alternative to nylon and other
oil,petroleum based products.
How about you?

Also....I wonder how many people in this country {and out}
know that the U.S.'s monetary system was based on opium once upon a time?
C.B.
