I haven't travelled to the extent that some of you here have ... I tend to be a home-body.
When I was 18 I made a trip to Negril Beach, Jamaica. It was a little piece of heaven-on-earth.
I can only imagine what changes have come about in 33 years.
Negril Beach was pretty laid back with not many fancy hotels. During the time I was there many jamaicans opened up their homes to visitors for added income. I stayed with an older couple raising one of their grandchildren. They were totally cool folks and welcomed me in as a family member.
I was more interested in hanging with day to day folks, experiencing daily life in paradice then spending time at a fancy resort.
