like all thing i enjoy.
on a singular level I'm eclectic.
i love poems old and new with as much reverence.
I'm always open to new poems though am pretty stolid in my dislikes of certain poets. never could get to grips with the Snyder, Kerouac and Ginsberg of the beat poetica scene. and yes i know Kerouac wooed a nation, he just never wooed me.
my fave music is northern soul (fast dance music) originating in the north of England during the 60's and Motown, but that doesn't preclude me liking other music that ranges from Acker Bilk's stranger on the shore to George Macreays rock the boat.
so too is my taste in poetry. i love, or should i say enjoy the romantical period but will read anything, given the time and inclination. now and again when advised to read such and such a poet i get lucky. i got lucky reading Stan Rice's hamburger on the say-so of addy and digna. i got equally as lucky reading Sara Teasdale and her especially perfect;
There will come soft rains, well worthy of a read.
