I have to be honest and say
I've written very little poetry lately.
most is old stuff. I tend to shut them
away and after a long forgetful break
uncover them, dust them off, and redress them.
I find it amazing how drab some of them look when
i pull them out into the newness of a fresh day.
some of them i still love as they are but even in
those i can see a need to spring clean. So I do
tend to do lots of edits to my stuff.
how about you?

most of the stuff i've written has been getting an edit for ten years now lmao.
seriously. i write, do a few edits. post and do few edits. put away for a year or so and do a few more edits and repost. and on and on. lol i enjoy good hard honest critiques and feedback, even if i don't agree with everything, i can often take something positive from them. when i first start posting poems. i'd hate the constructive or harsh feedback with a vengeance. i always thought i was a great poet lol.
eventually i joined a group called MOAPG (the owner's dead now

) from him i learned to accept honest feedback for what it was and to take from it what i could. stephen morse his name was, he always tried to keep it real if you know what i mean. i got banned from his group over a political statement that was made which i disagreed with but no matter. he taught or shown me more than anyone i know, the importance of an edit.
so post some poetry please
