I know that taking a direct quote from centuries ago isn't always amenable to meter, but...
"We hold these truths...". There's a little iambic chunk.
I guess if I was going to tackle it, I'd try and reduce line lengths a bit to make things a bit easier.
I just pulled out my old Rupert Bear poems from the 1960's. Only eight syllables per line, but absolutely perfect iambic for several hundred stanzas.
