On a String

I wrote my heart
with invisible ink, hoping
that you'd hold it
up to the fire,

read my blood, drip
it on rip stop nylon, pull
and release your string-
fly me like a kite-

watch me drift above this
noisy city, a lone red note
upon the silent blue
sheet music-

then slowly
draw me in,
and bring me
back to earth.
