Enjoyed this one Tim. "Impossible earth" gives me Pablo Neruda vibes. I am a bit confused about why the barking dog is the exception to night's beginning when you have so many other things going on leading up to this last line, but it's something that I'll probably come to understand after a few more rereads, which I don't mind doing : D
