Signs (revised)

Thanks to all of you for your feedback. With it in mind I have tried a re-write:

Blanketed in the yellow of a low sun
They glow like the signs
Slung over their heads –
GATES 3-4 and i for INFORMATION.
Signifiers of concealed meaning
Which interpretation unmasks.
But how would they seem to an untaught eye?
Uninterpretable - like their faces.
