In response to dukealien's picture and poem "Hanging Bottle" which can be found here.

I wrote this poem at least 3 years ago, and it has already been work-shopped (which is why I'm posting it here instead). A poem is never too old for comments and opinions, though


because the world can do without

There stood a tree-
the ugliest tree in the neighbourhood.
No leaves or shades of colour,
just brown and broken, withered branches.
Hanging spirits would sway with cold wind
like the glass bottle tied to thin string.

They axed down the tree today;
old grass grows prettier empty.
