I feel like the font detracts from the peace.... Having a hard time reading it.

Fixed the font issue.

Everybody's a critic:
The font still doesn't work very well. I think haiku, simple creatures that they be,
should have a simple sans-serif font. And, being humble as well, they'd probably
think plain old Arial was just fine. -- The focus should be on the words.

To make it show up better you could use a thicker sans-serif, or switch to black,
or darken the background a bit.

Also: Those haiku painters didn't relegate their haiku to the far border of their
haiga, they inserted a nice margin between them and it. Some put the damn things
all over the frame:
