I'm not sure what the literal image is, like is this a clementine rose? From I read here, I would think it is and then it has been snipped and frozen for presentation. The poem has some other lingering connotations like usual suspects (lover...).

Conscience...I wanted to slip consciousness in for conscience. It is actually an archaic meaning of conscience. To me, consciousness seems more right as if the focus of a mind is now in the heavy folds. Conscience as moral right and wrong doesn't seem to fit.

I wanted to add an article..."Where the universe is heaving".
Become part of the moment and the universe rises?

I do like the associations and the colors. Whether I have any other understanding of what is happening here...I don't know. Having complete knowledge of a poem is not a requirement for enjoyment, ask readers of T.S. Eliot's work.

Though perhaps I want more clarity here, but at the same time, this could just be a reflection me at this moment, and if I came back to this a year from now, I might see something more.

a few thoughts,
Bill
