I have no problem with making a fool of myself and being seen to be poetically incompetant, but i would hate to think that i was leading someone astray with false or wrong information.

For the most part critique and poetry are relative to the observers and therefore short of some grievous error on the part of the mentor, I can hardly foresee a reason for anyone to step in.

Also, with all due respect to the idea and the willingness to dedicate time to helping others, this idea needs to be simplified and packaged for n00bs only.

Anyone who can read a poem can tell the OP what they liked and didn't like about it, but n00bs get scared of sounding stupid and sometimes it prevents their posting. imo that is the only demographic you will snare with these exercises -- My reasoning is that someone who already gives critique and would like to improve will/can do so by simply reading poetry and continuing to practice giving feedback-- and anyone who gives bullshit feedback because they never truly read the poem to begin with will probably never change and will certainly never participate in any exercises like this.
