I'm Burlington Bertie, try not to get shirtie,
not Burlington Bertie from Bow.
I rise at four thirty decidedly flirty
I'm Burlington Bertie you know.

The lads call me Nell and an orange I'll sell
and sometimes I do a quick turn,
but when Burlington Bertie gets down and dirty
it's time fruit sales adjourn.

One night at a Drury Lane play I was beckoned
Not by perverts, vagrants or felons
But His Royal Highness, King Charles the Second
Who now has a penchant for melons
