Besides paying for the smear test afterwards.

i have to say this jacj;
please keep it sensible, and sewer worthy remarks will be deleted and warnings will be given this a hard one if you don't mean chocs and flowers and stuff. a few days before valatines day one year i tried desperately to get some flowers for my partner. non could be had. eventually i found a place with a real big (and i mean big ) bouquet. i duly paid and the flowers were sent and one of those three legged easle things (it was a really big bouquet) when my partner came home she said people kept asking her who died?

Oh yes sorry for the smear test remark. I needed something to fill the first comment and that was the first thing I thought of
Is there a way for me to move the thread to the sewer, or can only you do that?

billy, that was a great story! I can only imagine the enormity of the bouquet.
(and very sweet )My husband is the romantic one ... with breakfasts in bed, complete with candles and small bouquets of wildflowers, long soaks amongst bubbles, surprise gifts, love notes, etc. etc. (I've been very blessed and spoiled) So here's what he had to share ... When we were expecting our first child, complications arose and I was hospitalized for four months. I was to be allowed to go home for Christmas.(the hospital was a 4 1/2hr. drive from home). My husband worked in the woods logging, which meant long days and very physical work. Friday he arrived at the hospital to take me home, but we were told because of the distance it was too risky ... we spent our time together and then said our tearful good-byes. Without my knowing, he decided that if I couldn't get out for Christmas, that he was going to bring Christmas to me. A couple of hours later my husband returned to the hospital with a live miniature Christmas tree, small foil covered chocolate balls, which we strung as decorations, a small set of mini lights, eggnog, and a beautiful wooden nursing rockingchair (my Christmas present! ), and his pjs, then informed the hospital that if I couldn't get out, he was staying ... and he did, moved into the materity ward for 2 weeks, as it was his Christmas holidays. The nurses told us never before had that been allowed. That was 28 years ago and I doubt it has ever happened again!
You give to the world when you're giving your best to somebody else.

thats a long way for a hospital to be kath?
i suppose the most romantic thing i ever did was travel halfway around the world to be with my partner. everytime i visit the uk, i always bring back a bottle of her fave perfume and we make sure to talk on the phone everyday while i'm away.

Probably not the most romantic, but when I was about 8/9 I wrote a letter to the girl I fancied and following some adult advice I proceeded to drenching it in perfume and getting someone else to deliver it to her.
Ah, to be young and innocent ...

The most romantic thing I've ever done is when I offered to buy the ticket collecter on a train breakfast after we brushed up against each other as I was finding my seat.
