hopefully if they can get themselves some kind of democracy it won't be done on such a large scale.
as it is it doesn't look like mubarik will be going till his term of office ends (in sep i think) i guess if they get a democracy
after that history will say it was his legacy. if he ups and leaves before that history will say he was ousted because of democracy.
anyone think the army will eventually turn one way or the other?
i don't mean as in ; not firing on civilians. i mean as against the regime and secret police. the protest would get its demands a lot quicker if it did.

yeah. mubarik has said he's handed over power to his vice president.
but that he's not going till his term is over in sep. his vice president used to be head of the secret police i think hehe.
the reason for this is so suleman can stomp on the protesters and mubarak can say "it wasn't me. suleman will say "we did what they wanted and they became violent"

mubarack stepped down and the army will run things till an election.

so anyone have any ideas where it will go, who'll take power and will there be a domino effect in countries such as yemin and iran. i can't see it happening in saudi, but think jordan and lebanon and iran could be in for a few shocks.

for the time being things seem to be settling down in Egypt. i think as long as the army keeps its promise things may work out.

now what about Italy and the Tunisian boat refugees. the Yemen and Algeria (i think ) have halted the protests using the police and army. basically they're not taking any shit. do you think these country's peoples will have the same resilience of the Egyptian people or is it that their respective gov. don't actually give a toss as long as they can be suppressed?

i'd like to the iranian top squad toppled and then may algeria but i think those two are a different kettle of fish. the yemin could be the next one to fall. maybe even jordan.

got bit by some unknown insect on sunday and my leg is swollen
so i can only be online for short periods and then i'm working on the forumSad

anyway, while resting i saw Libya on the news and gadafi threated to smash them .
doing so house by house if need be. i'm surprised the Libyans are still out in force.
i really felt they and the Iranians would be squashed before things got out of hand. while

one word, well two really:
greed, power.

and nothing corrupts like the kind of power gaddafi has, nothing makes you as greedy.

yeah some of them are supposed to be haught .

that aside, things seem to getting worse, saw on cnn that he ordered his air force to bomb and
they refused, (it sounds believable to me ). i have a feeling he'll be gone soon the same as mubaric
if the crowds get to him he'll be gone to pieces, i think they'd literally rip him apart.

i saw on the bbc that some one or more than one are holding members of the iraq government hostage while wearing explosive vests, (that was a few hours ago and i have no source i'm afraid)
if it's tru then it a definite change of tactics in that country. i wonder if it will work better than demonstrating?
